One of the first things many people ask when I tell them I’m a blogger is how did you get into doing that? My honest answer is I kind of fell into it, I never really set out to be a blogger or a influencer it was just a natural progression from being on instagram and doing a little brand repping for different online shops. I class myself now as a family/lifestyle blogger but I actually started off with a home account which is crazy!

…blogging and influencing takes a lot of time and effort and is something you can only do if you really love it, it’s so worth all the hard work!

I have four children, a pup and the house to run as well as volunteering for a charity so finding the time and balance to blog can be tricky but I’m at a place now where I think I’ve found a good balance. Being a family blogger most of the things companies will approach me with are things like days out so that’s pretty easy to find time for with the weekends and school holidays  and anything else is done on the two days a week I have child free which is great and still gives me some me time! As far as finding time to do photo editing and blog writing that’s saved for the evening once the kids are in bed. I find evening the best time to blog as its cosy and quiet and there are very little distractions.

I’ve been blogging for about a year now and still feel a little bit like a small fish in a very big pond but I’m slowly finding my feet, blogging and influencing takes a lot of time and effort and is something you can only do if you really love it, it’s so worth all the hard work! I still have so much to learn but the community we have is amazing and are always ready to help and support each other.

I’m always ready to learn and speaking to bloggers at events/workshops hosted by Socialight I always come away feeling like I’ve learned so much. The fact Socialight work with bloggers of all sizes and styles means people like me get a real shot at being seen and supported which is lovely.

I

deally in a couple of years I’d love to be doing blogging full time or be good enough that other bloggers that are just starting out want my advice! Even just someone knowing who I am would be the most incredible feeling!

My advice for anyone who is thinking of getting into blogging or just started out would simply be to stay true to yourself don’t try and be someone you aren’t or do things you aren’t interested just to get likes it won’t last and you won’t be happy, post and write about what you love and the right people will find you!
